Sponsor a tree- FALL TREE PLANTING 2014

RICHWOOD PLACE CIVIC ASSOCIATION (RPCA) is once again partnering with Trees for Houston to plant Live Oaks throughout our neighborhood. During the winter of 2012 we planted 7 30 gallon live oaks along Norfolk between Hazard and Woodhead. They are looking great!

If you would like to plant one or more live oaks in your front yard or sponsor a live oak planted elsewhere in Richwood Place, you can pay for that here or come to National Night Out and you can select the location there. We will have a map of the neighborhood showing where we would like to plant trees.

Your neighbor, Alexandra Hernández-Nørgaard is heading up this effort and can be reached for questions via email : ahn@aretelandscape.com

The cost of the tree including planting, staking and mulching is $95 ($99 online). You do not have to be a RPCA member to take advantage of this offer, however if you are a current member of the association, you can receive a $25 discount off of this already discounted price ($75 online).

Join us in the 1800 Block of Norfolk tomorrow night for National Night Out from 6-8pm. We will have a sample tree there for you to see. As well as a visit by the HFD and entertainment by Allen Oldies Band.

See you then!

It’s that time again…

Texas celebrates National Night Out in October again this year this coming Tuesday, October 1. And, Richwood Place is having a party in the 1800 block of Norfolk from 6-8pm.

Details on the card below. You should also receive one in your mailbox by the end of the week. Plan to come out…dance…eat…meet your neighbors and enjoy a good time. Please say a big thanks to our neighborhood sponsors: Papa Mio, Cliff Helmcamp (GREENWOOD KING PROPERTIES ), Jerry Blum (HERITAGE TEXAS PROPERTIES), REPRINT!, David Houston (NEW LEAF REAL ESTATE) and the Richwood Place Civic Association.

Sincere thanks to all who joined the RPCA for 2013, attended the block party and are supporting our great neighborhood. I want to say a special thank you to a few folks who helped make last night a success.

Rita Cook helped with planning and took care of printing and mailing out the postcards. Thank you, Rita

Sam Brown, general manager of Papa Mio brought a wonderful dinner, attended the party, kept the amazing food hot and served and met the neighbors. Thank you, Papa Mio and Sam!

Sue Bailey, treasurer, helped with many last minute planning and errands. She was a huge help.

Cliff Helmcamp of Greenwood King sponsored our iPad Mini raffle and also was a big help with setup. Thank you, Cliff.

Thank you to Liz and Raymund Eich for loaning us and setting up the tent.

Again, thank you all for your support of our neighborhood. Getting out, meeting each other and getting to know one another is one of the greatest ways we can build community and support our great neighborhood.
